Carres d'Art > Carres Hermes Editions Limitees
1ere Ed. 1945 - Dessinateur inconnu
The design of Carre Croisiere was used to pay tribute to five French cruise ships of the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique. The Compagnie Generale Transatlantique (CGT, Transat or French Line) is a French shipping company founded in 1855. The French Line liners are symbolic works of art of their time, intended to represent the image of France abroad. The quality of their service, the splendour of their dinners and the choice of wines have earned the loyalty of a wealthy clientele.
Circa 1960 - Scarf edited by Hermes for the French Line.
- Built in 1921, she ran aground off Cannes in 1962. In 1971 a second liner with this name was put into service.
- Sold aboard the liner / Known dark blue dominant colour / 90 x 90 cm / 100% silk
