In The Pocket

Le Carre Hermes > Autumn/Winter 2007 Collection

Flow and counter-flow, flood-tide and ebb-tide, time's wave unfurls then retreats, leaving on our strands its harvest of objects, neglected or lost, glass beads rolled by the daily round. Modest remnants but rich booty too, marooned in the silence of our pockets, our bags, our drawers, our memories. Keys, buttons, pencil stubs, entry tickets, scraps of paper, coins: this is what remains of Life's feast, and these fragments give our lives their profile. Each of these fugitives tells us something. Their murmur stirs us.
