Le Carre Hermes Paris >> Automne - Hiver 1994 / 95

Here is an homage to the timeless, princely art of hunting with falcons, inspired by a treatise on falconry that was published in the 19th century in Leyde and Dusseldorf, and by figures painted "from life" by the animal painter Wolf for King William III of Holland. This hunt-loving king brought about a revival of hunting with falcons in his country between 1850 and 1890. Around the stand for the cage, we see different falcons, some hooded, all with their feet in fetters.
