Passionflowers

Better than a bridge, this scarf transports us to the French island of "Ile de Re", that Atlantic abode of oysters and salt crystals, that welcome land which entwines stems of passionflower with rare fruits and mystical flora. Two baskets of woven rushes, the 'bazenne" with hydrangeas and "gourbeuille", form a base for the compass card carved in mahogany by Mr Cazavent, the renowned marine carpenter, who died in 1989 and whose memory we honour.
