Hermes Histoires De Carres - 2015 (As translated from Mandarin Chinese)
The Tree of the Wind
This square scarf is designed to celebrate the Huichol (Huichol or Wixaritari) in the West Madre Mountains of Mexico. Montserrat Gonzalez Lugo, an artist from Mexico, is deeply influenced by Huikaol's craftsmanship, bead embroidery and wool weaving, hoping to depict all the polytheistic beliefs that the people believe in that originate from nature. In the middle of the square is the guardian totem of the clan: the Huikauer cross symbol or the eye of the god.
The patterns of the four corners represent the four elements of the origin theory of the universe: water (Tatei Haramara), the beginning of life; earth (Tatei Yurianaka), the soul of the world; fire (Tatehuari), the change of all things; Qi (Kieri) and it is called the "tree of the wind" and is the gathering of chaos.
