Histoires De Carres > Autumn-Winter 2016
A young graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, Antoine Carbonne lives and works in Brussels. His artistic approach consists of bringing together diverse images with the aim of building a personal relationship with the world that surrounds him. In his hands, these images are transformed, through a play of subtle shifts, to become a composition whose visual identity is informed by an invisible dialogue between memory and imagination. Inspired by Fisherman on the Laita, a painting by Paul Serusier, co-founder of the Nabi artistic movement at the end of the 19th century, Au bout du monde depicts a mysterious valley at dusk or perhaps in the early light of dawn.
