On a silk thread

Silk, that magical fabric, which most readily brings to mind the soft caressing touch of body and cloth, which also the stuff of heroics. On the threshold of adventure, it is Ariane's thread which produced the bombyx silkworm, as a prelude to further exotic tales: Persian fables, legends from Ancient China, extravagant finery and duels to the death... All of which feature the same quest for the unknown, and appetite for danger, which figure among Man's most sensual pleasures.
