• About the opening of this 1st Hermes shop in New York, 5th shop in the United States, Jean Louis Dumas said "I consider that this shop can be ranked in importance and prestige just after our "headquarters" at 24 Faubourg St Honore". As for the scaffolding, it disappeared under a huge orange box "embolduce". This emblematic place closed its doors in 2000 when the Flagship Madison Avenue boutique opened. (cf.
