Histoires De Carres > Printemps-Ete 2009

Over the centuries, the Indian in Brazil has mingled his feathers with his past, with his rituals and with his festivals: sumptuous headdresses and finery, jewellery ornaments and musical instruments - sheer bursts of colour! The art of the feather has evolved in a green and sombre environment where the plume of the birds surpasses that of the flowers. More than one thousand different species, some of which are unique in the world, offer an incredible array of colours and shapes. Furthermore, of the 350,000 Indians living in Brazil, 60% reside in the tropical forest where isolated tribes still live today, completely cut off from the rest of the world.

How To Wear Your Hermes Scarf

Feathers have always been used in the rites and ceremonies of the Brazilian Indians as decoration for jewelry, costumes and headdresses. Today, Hermes borrows from the Indians, using their work as inspiration for the adornment of the Hermes woman.
