Carres d'Art > Carres Hermes Editions Speciales
Carre Indigo > The Indigo line was launched in 2014. It highlights the craftsmanship of the company's Lyon-based printers and the natural Indigo dyeing technique used in northern Bangladesh and southern India.
Year 2014 - Design Laurence Bourthoumieux
- Bandhini is an artisanal process of reserve dying. First printed in the Hermes workshops in Lyon, the Carre is shaped with more than 3,000 small, precisely placed knots, before being dipped in a natural indigo dye bath. Once te knots have been delicately untied, the reserved areas, where the pattern has not been died, reveal the colours.
- Sold at Hermes Fg St Honore and Rue de Sevres 13 February 2014 / 140 x 140 cm / 100% silk twill
