They gallop, snort, capriole and rear up. as you admire the eighteen horses that prance around the arena at the centre of this scarf, you can almost hear the sound of their hooves. A medley of ceremonial whips, plumes, buckles and saddles fans out around their frenzied cavalcade, evoking the timeless elegance of the equestrian universe. Laurence Bourthoumieux drew inspiration for this design of dazzling colours and myriad reflections from an illustrated catalogue of equestrian articles published in the 19th century.
