Histoires De Carres > Autumn-Hiver 2016
An architect by training, Nigel Peake is inspired by habitats of every kind, and discerns a spirit and a philosophy in each building technique. This scarf is a homage to the natural ingeniousness of birds. To their gift for creating a nest - the very symbol of a protective refuge - from almost loving. To their infinite patience and the countless sorties to and fro that are needed to gather all sorts of twigs, leaves, seaweed, sand or down - elements that are scarcely visible but which, when woven together, become a shelter. In an allegory to this ability shared by all living beings, this scarf assembles feathers, flowers and leafy shoots in a protective circle.
