Mogul Horses
For the Great Moguls, Timur sovereigns who reigned in northern India beginning in the early 16th century, the best leisure activities were those practiced on horseback: ceremonies, polo, hunts for birds on the ground or in flight, and tiger hunts. The latter was considered a doubly rare pleasure since wives even had the right, it is believed, to participate with their faces unveiled.
