Julie Abadie's classic illustration from the late 1970s echoes to the clattering of carriages and magnificent teams of horses. Its dynamic composition reveals the sinuous lines of a pair of leather blinkers and the elegant interlacing formed by late 19th-century English horsewhips, whose blackthorn handles are adorned with silver rings and pommels. and repeating these lines, the other side pulsates with vibrant colours applied to the same forms, simplified and embellished with geometric patterns.
