- Saint-Cyr is a French military school of higher education founded by Napoleon 1st in 1802. Today it trains officers of the army and some of the officers of the gendarmerie. Captain Gerard de Cathelineau (1921-19576) left his name to the 163rd class (1976-1978) of the Military School of Saint-Cyr.
