Hermes Histoires De Carres - 2015 (As translated from Mandarin Chinese)
Royal Collection
The "Royal Collection" square scarf is a crystallization of cooperation with the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. Its design is inspired by the Jingtailan craftsmanship of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)and the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The Decorative Art Museum contains a large number of reference materials for the Cloisonne process. In the 19th century, the French had a strong interest in Chinese art, and many large private collections were born. In 1923, David David-Weill, the earliest amateur collector, donated more than 150 Cloisonne treasures toi the museum. The method of making Cloisonne is to use extremely fine wire to stick to the pattern on the copper tire, and then inlay and fill the enamel glaze of different colors into the pattern. This silk scarf shows us rich and delicate flowers and geometric patterns. At the same time, the symbolic horse pattern in China (often appearing with dragons) is also painted on the picture.
Catherine Baschet created this delicate composition, which aims to celebrate the subtlety of the Clane process.
