Marine companions

Off the coasts of Ouessant or Molene, near Finistere, when the fishing is not plentiful, the fisherman dreams instead. Then the sea teems. The waves are covered with schooners and the horizon bristles with lighthouses. Life reawakens, in the surging of dolphins and the plunging of terns. The wind freshens, stirring infinity. Hundreds of reminiscences are engraved in the memory, but whose, finally, is hard to say. Does it belong to the generations of sailors, or the billows, which have held their gaze since time began?
