Wood Shavings

Taking the motifs of a pedestal table in mahogany, inlaid with amaranth, which extols the style of Louis XVI at the heart of the Emile Hermes Collection, this scarf celebrates the cabinet-maker through the tools, which allow him to excel at his art. Saw, compass, stock and die, vice and hammer remind us less of instruments of torture than the means of happiness. Wood shavings may not be the tears of the wood but rather its bursts of laughter.
