Histoires De Carres > Printemps-Ete 2012
At 23 years of age, Robert Delpire founded Neuf magazine, bringing together Sartre, Michaux, Miller and Picasso. Then at the beginning of the 1950's, he published the photographers Cartier-Bresson, Brassai and Robert Frank. In 1963, Graphis magazine paid homage to his work by inviting him to design its cover. Entranced by its alignment of subtly varying shells, Robert Dumas suggested that he create a scarf. The same year, Delpire inaugurated his Parisian gallery, which would show a number of photographers and illustrators, including Koudelka, Bourdin, Savignac and Glaser. This tireless "presenter of images" practiced the art of sharing his passions intensely, just as the Hermes scarf shares the passion of telling stories that endure through time.
Le Carre Hermes > Spring-Summer 2012
Publisher, gallery owner, film producer, exhibitor of images... Robert Delpire adores and is adored by artists that leave their mark on time. Impressed by a cover for the magazine 'Graphis' that he produced in 1963, Robert Dumas invited him to create the first Hermes scarf based on a photograph. An invitation to a seashore treasure hunt; let your child's eye delight in the alignment of shells, touch their ribs, marvel at the subtlety of their shapes... Let enchantment wash over you. Can you hear the sea?
