... and back again. A few seconds before midnight, Cinderella, tiring of the ball and feeling slightly hungry, asked for her coach to be changed back into a pumpkin. Her godmother obligingly granted this whimsical caprice of hers, largely dictated by her appetite. All that had to be done was to reverse the enchantment. And here, therefore, in summer flavours, is the result which so delighted the god-daughter, with all the steps in reverse order. End of the story, according to my account, which is resolutely oral in tradition.
