Cut-outs

In Switzerland, in the canton of Vaud, a peacefulness extends over Lake Leman inspired by the vapours of good soup, and the man who rejoices from it the sanctity of happiness. Chamois, pine trees, kindly chalets, herds seeking alpine pastures to the fresh clanking of cow-bells, mountain posies and embroidered hearts: all these paper cut-outs and collages festoon the commonplace surroundings to give snow a warmth which will not, however, melt it.
