The Art Institute of Chicago is a museum located in Chicago (USA) which opened its doors in 1879. It is the largest art museum in the United States after the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York. The extension of the museum with the construction of the Modern Wing, designed by Renzo Piano, begin in 2005 and was inaugurated in 2009.
