The Emile Hermes collection includes numerous illustrated catalogues presenting drawings by well-known or anonymous artists of harness buckles, saddlery and accessories in intricate detail. Inspired by one of these images, Florence Manlik has redesigned a horse wearing its rug, calling it "Favori" after the name inscribed on a horse's plaque that is also conserved in Emile Hermes' office. Her fine, precise lines meticulously delineate the rug's pattern: a highly graphic herringbone with an almost palpable future.
