THE SACRED RIVER

Two women at the window contemplate the passing of days. waters sprung from the mountains and flowing towards the sea. Harmony, peace, beauty. In the swirls of the river, over there, village folk gather to pray, to play and to wash their linen. A ship makes its way downstream, a passing stranger, who returns laden. What cargo is in the hold? A certain light, no doubt; an art of living founded on wisdom. And what will it leave in its wake? Silence, yearnings, a tear.
