Geometrie Cretoise

Histoires De Carres . Printemps-Ete 2012

Since 3000 years B.C. and throughout the Minoan period, Cretan ceramic art was certainly one of the most successful. Its patterns would evolve with time. As princes constructed palaces a thousand years later, they housed their pottery, and ceramic art became fine and multicoloured: like Kamares Ware or the Palace Style. Inspired by the formal wealth of this art, this scarf like an anthology, marries fine lines with solid colours. With stylised lilies, slender birds, and geometric alignments, the design seduces with its expressive simplicity and its consummate decorative art. Beauty transcends time, always.
