At Seville the flamenco feria" throbs; here the dancer forces the men to cry out for joy. Such dizzy whirling of her flounced dress, that fatal lottery wheel! Faced with this woman, faced with this flame, the macho male, now mere puppet, stakes his all and loses his life. He is nothing now but a bewildered weather-vane, plunging into a labyrinth of the passions, where the Minotaur awaits him with hooded eyes. All dance is an abstract of violence and love. All dance is life itself, in its spinning ardour.
