H Carre Hermes Paris > Spring - Summer 2001
Translation; "Sacred Peru", "Huaca" comes from a verb meaning "to groan", for it was in the groaning that the first Peruvians were supposed to pray to their gods. Man is never content with his lot: it is his shortcoming, but also his good fortune, since in trying to make himself better he is forced to touch on Beauty. The "groaning" leads towards a craftsmanship, whose testimony is witnessed is witnessed in these jewels and accessories of a pre-Inca period.
