The Desert Island

God sprinkled a pinch of earth, and to support the earth He delegated an angel, and under the feet of the angel He placed a ruby. Then He spread a bright wave around the ruby. Thus our island came to be born - deserted but luxuriant: full of symbols, which grow there like mushrooms and blossom with hope. Gliding over this Eden, great birds cry forth with imperial accents; and their message is Silence.
