Youth

Escaping from the gateway of a Venetian palace, the wrought-ironwork of the 16th century shakes off the immobility of metal to treat itself to a fling of furnishing trimming. The silk braid performs arabesques whilst, from their vase, flowers of pure satin launch themselves in a burst of taffeta ribbons. This surge, the true Fountain of Youth, is a paean of praise dedicated to the eternal youth of the City of Doges.
