Historias De Carres > Autumn-Winter 2011
How do you explain the certain sparkle that transforms a piece of perfection into a masterpiece? From where does this spell emerge, like that cast by fairies? What magic makes the Kelly, since we’re thinking of it, such that we want to keep it our entire lives, a companion in every moment? With imagination, lightness and humour, Dimitri Rybaltchenko presents us with a dazzling portrait. A star amongst stars, the magic wand, sparkling brightly, it appears on this scarf radiant like a never-ending dream.

Published using a new visual technique.
The drawings of the Magic Kelly series have the particularity of containing a 3D image. On this subject, Dimitri Rybaltchenko points out: “It is possible to observe autostereograms without an instrument, with a little practice, by looking in the vague, far behind the image, to reduce the convergence of the eyes and thus approach parallel vision. To begin, the easiest way is to get very close to the image without tying to look at it, then to move away from it progressively. The image is then perceived in relief.”
