Magic
The only truly great miracle is that of birth and breath. Conjurors, of course, add their astonishing tricks to such mundane magic. So rabbits are produced from hats, ladies are transfixed with daggers, gentlemen are carved into slithers and the magician himself disappears, only to reappear as a tiger, before escaping from a cage bound in chains. sometimes, even, a silk scarf spurts forth: one could hardly ask for more!
