Histoires De Carres > Spring-Summer 2017
During a visit to the Emile Hermes collection, Pierre Marie stopped in front of a carriage lantern that had just been restored, struck by the refinement of its decoration. He discovered there were forty-four further examples, all different, which inspired this dynamic, diagonal scarf. He then had the idea of accentuating their originality by adding a personal touch. Each lamp becomes the theatre for an equestrian scene. Horses, seahorses and chimeras dance around the light. Some form a carrousel, others pose majestically, still others coupled with a rider. A tribute to the decorative arts, this scarf pays homage to the creativity of the horse-and-carriage craftsmen of yore.
