Hermes Histoires De Carres > Spring - Summer 2016
Originally from Sao Paulo, the illustrator Filipe Jardim has created his first scarf for Hermes: Modernisme tropical. Here is a Brazil that is both imagined and real, defined striking modernist architecture. In this exhuberant design, the rounded contours of Brazilia, the capital city founded in 1960, mingle with the angular and pared-down forms of the Paulista School, an architectural movement founded in the 1950s in Sao Paulo. Brazil is also the land of the Mata Atlantica tropical Atlantic Forest, whose banana, aloe vera and alocasia leaves find a way into this captivating and unusual portrait.
