The corrida, a dual of instinct and wit, is a play of blood and honor in four acts. It presents, first, the force of the bull against the picadors, then the audacity of the banderilleros, then the technique of the matador in his faena, and finally the grandeur of the bull's death by estocade. Sensitive souls are shocked, tragic temperaments exalted. The artist's eye is overjoyed.
