Pluments Du Roy (Rencontre heureuse) Special Issue

Histoires De Carres > Spring - Summer 2018

A happy encounter between two legendary Hermes designs that meet on a scarf and share the space equally. On one side L'Instruction du roy: through an interlacing of bits and reins, curves and scrolls, Henri d'Origny recounts the teaching of Antoine de Pluvinel, equerry to King Louis XIII. Mindful of the horse's wellbeing, he extolled the virtues of gentleness and understanding in his work L'instruction du roy en l'exercice de monter a cheval. With Casques et plumets, the other design in this composition, Julie Abadie pays homage to the French cavalry and reproduces nineteenth-century plumed helmets.

Rencontre heureuse

Based on an idea by Bali Barret to bring together 2 segments of different scarf designs, Hermes edited 6 scarves from the Rencontre Heureuse Collection in 2014.

In 2019, during the Journees Hermes Carre Club Paris, 2 scarves were published under the name Rencontres Heureuses, this time in plural, in reference to the visitors who had the pleasure of meeting the designers present at these days behind their easel.
