Histoires De Carres > Printemps-Ete 2009
Provencial country scenes, abrupt cliffs, pine trees and majestic cypresses... The carre Promenadeau pays de Cezanne portays a stroll through the artist's dearest spots. Composed like a frame, depicting a border of different sketches, it is decorated with olive tree branches, the painter's favorite tree. In the middle stands the primary subject of his works, Mount Sainte-Victoire, topped by a tall Alep pine tree. On the right is shown Bibemus quarry, from where was extracted the characteristic yellow stone of Aix-en-Provence. Also portrayed is Paul Cezanne's atelier, perched on Lauves hill in the Aix-en-Provewnce region.
