Hermes Historias De Carres > Autumn-Winter 2010
The juxtaposition is strange and bold. Rustic straps and baroque suns, simple ribbons hanging up their leather attachments, and portraits of dazzling Phoebus, the Greek god of light. The central orb adorned the carre Gloria Soli, a sun dial which seemed to suggest carpe diem (“seize the day”). Other suns join in, as well as these Sangles (straps) which hold the horses’ covers and which lent their designs to another scarf. Just as you sometimes knot two carres together to create another effect, the two designs have combined to give birth to this new arrival: certain encounters can produce beautiful surprises!
