Histoires De Carres > Autumn-Winter 2020
Since its origins, the Emile Hermes collection has perpetuated the tradition of bringing together rare and atypical pieces. This is seen in compositions of real objects that allow us to appreciate their stylistic and typological variants at a single glance. It was one of these compositions, dated 1923, that served as a model for this scarf on which dog collars are carefully arranged according to size or symmetry. A few years later, these adornments inspired the famous Collier de chien belt and eponymous bracelet. Florence Manlik's precise, meticulous hand, coupled with her undeniable sense of volume and material, create a piece of remarkable realism.
